Wolverhampton – Annual Boiler and Gas Fire Service for a Returning Customer
This job took us back to a familiar property in Wolverhampton, where Chris had booked in for his annual boiler service. He’s one of our long-standing customers, and like many others, he chooses to stay on top of his boiler maintenance year after year for complete peace of mind.
But this time, he also had another request. Alongside the boiler service, he asked if we could carry out a full gas fire service while we were there. It’s a sensible move, especially if the gas fire doesn’t get used often or hasn’t been checked in a while. Both appliances needed a safety check, so we combined the two into one efficient visit.
Getting to Work – What’s Involved in the Service
We started with the boiler. The usual checks were done first – inspecting the flue, checking the combustion readings, testing the gas pressure and cleaning out key internal components. We also took time to look for signs of wear on seals and parts that may need replacing further down the line. There were no issues this time round, but these checks are exactly what help prevent those sudden winter breakdowns.
Next up was the gas fire. Servicing these is often overlooked, but it’s just as important as the boiler. We took it apart to clean out any build-up of dust, tested the ignition and flame picture, and checked all the safety features were functioning as they should. A full visual inspection was also done on the surrounding pipework, and all results recorded for the customer’s records.
